Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is set to return to the net for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference second-round playoff series against the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.
Luukkonen hasn’t played since allowing four goals on 20 shots in a 4-2 loss to the Boston Bruins in Game 2 of the opening round. He will take over for Alex Lyon, who gave up nine goals on 63 shots in the last two games, both losses. The Canadiens currently lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.
The 27-year-old Luukkonen posted a 22-9-3 record with a 2.52 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage in 35 games (34 starts) during the regular season.

The series shifts back to Buffalo for Game 5 on Thursday.
