World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has achieved a historic milestone by reaching the final of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Madrid, setting a new record previously held by tennis legends Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
The 24-year-old Italian defeated France’s Arthur Fils, ranked 25th in the world, 6-2, 6-4 in the semifinals, securing his 27th consecutive Masters-level match win. Sinner has already won three Masters titles this season—Indian Wells, Miami, and Monte Carlo—demonstrating his dominant form.
According to Opta, Sinner becomes only the fourth player to reach the final of all nine current ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, joining Rafael Nadal, Federer, and Djokovic. Remarkably, Sinner accomplished this feat in just 41 Masters appearances, setting a new record for the fastest time to achieve this milestone.

In the final, Sinner will face either Germany’s Alexander Zverev or Belgium’s Alexander Blockx. The Madrid tournament, which carries a prize fund of €8.235 million, concludes on May 3.
