Portuguese surfer Érica Máximo secured a 5th-place finish on Sunday at the Pro Junior Casablanca, the opening event of the 2026 European Pro Junior circuit. Her result made her the best-placed Portuguese athlete in the Moroccan competition.
Seven Portuguese surfers advanced to the final day in Casablanca, with four reaching the semifinals. However, none managed to earn a spot in the finals, which were eventually won by Britain’s Lukas Skinner and Spain’s Sol Borelli.
In addition to Máximo’s 5th place, Lua Escudeiro finished 7th in the women’s event, while Francisco Santos and Salvador Vala both placed 7th in the men’s competition. Maria Dias, Vida Mendonça, and Mário Leopoldo ended in 9th position overall.
