The top-seeded Indian men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty advanced to the second round of the 2026 Thailand Open Super 500 on Tuesday, though not without a tense battle.

Rankireddy and Shetty survived a stiff challenge from Indonesia’s Muh Putra Erwiansyah and Bagas Maulana, eventually securing a 21-19, 21-23, 21-10 victory in a 64-minute contest. This was the first meeting between the two pairs, putting the Indians ahead 1-0 in head-to-head encounters.
In other results, the seventh-seeded men’s doubles team of Hariharan Amsakarunan and Arjun MR fell to the lower-ranked duo of Chen Zi Ray and Lin Yu Chieh from Chinese Taipei, losing 18-21, 22-20 in straight games.
The women’s doubles pair of Rutaparna Panda and Swetaparna Panda also exited the tournament after a first-round defeat, going down 9-21, 11-21 to Lin and Yang of Chinese Taipei.
Meanwhile, Manav Choudhary in men’s singles, and the mixed doubles duo of Mohit Jaglan and Lakshita Jaglan failed to progress past the qualification rounds.
